LONG MEADOW RANCH 'ANDERSON VALLEY' PINOT NOIR, CALIFORNIA 2016
Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
Region: Anderson Valley, Mendocino, California
What's So Special: "Located in the west or “deep end” of the Anderson Valley in Mendocino County, approximately 2.5 hours north of San Francisco, our Anderson Valley Estate has 69 acres planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. With the Navarro River to the southwest and its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, the Estate has a natural marine layer that blankets the vineyards and creates terroir ideal for our estate-grown Burgundian varietals to mature slowly and ripen to the peak of their varietal character."
Tastes Like:A deep ruby red color with a combination of dried earth and musky roses with penetrating spice aromas on the nose. Shows a refined and silken texture and remains fresh and lively across the palate with intensity of fruit. Intriguing, balanced, and complex, it is a great picture of the finesse and intensity of Pinot Noir in Anderson Valley.
Pairs With: Serve with duck breast with cherry mostarda or grilled salmon with chanterelle mushrooms.
What the Pros Say: Wine Advocate - 93 Points: "The 2016 Pinot Noir Anderson Valley has a pale to medium ruby color and spicy notes of cinnamon, tree bark, dried cranberries, burnt orange peel and woodsmoke with a core of red and black berry fruit. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and nuanced with spicy character and a grainy, fresh frame, continuing to blossom on the long, detailed finish."
