MACARI 'SETTE' RED, NORTH FORK OF LONG ISLAND NV
Varietals: 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc
Region: North Fork of Long Island, New York
What's so Special: “Sette” is short for Settefrati — the town in Italy in the Province of Frosinone, east of Rome, where the Macari family is from. Sette means “seven” and in Italian, Settefrati represents the town of seven brothers.
Tastes Like: The latest version of this blend sings notes of Italian plums, spiced green olives, baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove) and a hint of raw cocoa. The wine is a 50/50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. 100% estate fruit from the Macari family farm in Mattituck.
Pairs With: Simple pasta dishes, fresh grilled steak, or a local-favorite 1943 Pizzeria Pizza!
